Regular Season Round 8: Arras - Toulouse 71-58

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Toulouse (2-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Arras (6-2) 71-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Arras. Toulouse managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toulouse 35-21 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Maggie Lucas (178-91, college: Penn St.) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds and Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85, agency: Comsport) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. International point guard Olivia Epoupa (165-94, agency: Comsport) responded with 14 points and 5 assists and Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine) scored 14 points. Arras have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Landes. Toulouse lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Union Hainaut. Arras will meet Basket Landes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toulouse will play against COB Calais (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
