Regular Season Round 8: Dunkerque - CFBB 73-70

Twelfth-ranked CFBB (1-7) was very close to win a game against third ranked Dunkerque (5-3) on Saturday. Dunkerque managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. CFBB trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 18-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-73 at the end of the game. Dunkerque looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American forward Keisha Hampton (187-90, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 20 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and Dace Pierre-joseph supported her with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Even 23 points by Ornella Bankole (180-97) did not help to save the game for CFBB. point guard Alix Duchet (165-97) added 9 points and 8 assists for the guests. CFBB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dunkerque moved-up to second place, which they share with Pays d'Aix. Loser CFBB keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Dunkerque will meet Limoges (#5) on the road in the next round. CFBB will play against Nice (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
