Regular Season Round 6: Niigata R. - Fujitsu RW 45-72

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Fujitsu RW (5-1) crushed 9th ranked Niigata R. (1-4) in Tokyo 72-45. The game was mostly controlled by Fujitsu RW. Niigata R. was better in second period 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Niigata R. 40-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. International swingman Chinatsu Yamamoto (175-91) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Fujitsu RW's coach BT Toews felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Nozomi Hoshino (164-87) who recorded 17 points and forward Nana Kondo (177-88) added 10 points respectively. Fujitsu RW have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Niigata R. at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Fujitsu RW's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (#11) in Hitachinaka and are hoping to win another game. Niigata R. will play at home against JX-Eneos S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
