Very expected game when 12th ranked Leyma Basquet (3-5) lost to eighth ranked Palma (5-4) in S'Arenal 70-83 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Palma. Leyma Basquet managed to win fourth quarter 30-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palma forced 23 Leyma Basquet turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Palma especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Point guard Sergio Llorente (188-90) nailed 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Italian guard Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic) accounted for 11 points. Five Palma players scored in double figures. Palma's coach Angel Cepeda used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (213-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Georgian Beka Burjanadze (203-94) added 17 points respectively for Leyma Basquet in the defeat. Palma moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Melilla. Leyma Basquet lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Penas Huesca. Palma will meet at home Oviedo CB (#10) in the next round. Leyma Basquet will play against Prat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
