Regular Season Round 10: Pogon RS - AZS AWF K-ce 53-90

Very predictable result in Ruda Slaska where first ranked AZS AWF K-ce (8-1) smashed 7th ranked Pogon RS (4-5) 90-53 on Sunday. The game without a history. AZS AWF K-ce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Pogon RS to just 7 points in second quarter. AZS AWF K-ce dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Pogon RS's 36. They outrebounded Pogon RS 52-33 including a 40-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS AWF K-ce looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Kamil Nowak (197-88) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Adam Andula (201-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Patryk Jelen (183-90) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS AWF K-ce have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C with 8-1 record. Pogon RS lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with five games lost. AZS AWF K-ce will face MKS DG 2 (#9) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pogon RS will play on the road against Alba Chorzow and hope to win that game.
