The game in Valencia was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Unicaja Malaga (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Valencia Basket (4-4). Unicaja Malaga defeated Valencia Basket 75-64. It looked good early as Valencia Basket took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Unicaja Malaga had a 20-11 second period charge getting the lead and Valencia Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-75. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) who scored that evening 18 points and 6 rebounds and American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86, agency: Two Points) supported him with 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even 7 points and 7 assists by point guard Pau Ribas (196-87) did not help to save the game for Valencia Basket. Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to second place, which they share with FC Barcelona. Valencia Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Iberostar Tener. and Rio Natura Mnb.. Unicaja Malaga will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#17) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
