Regular Season Round 9: Trieste - Agrigento 75-70

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Agrigento (5-4) against sixth ranked Trieste (5-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Agrigento was defeated by Trieste in a tough game in Trieste 70-75. Agrigento was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 21-9 third quarter run of Trieste. They also forced 23 Agrigento turnovers. Agrigento was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Issiah Grayson (180-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) accounted for 8 points and 4 assists. American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Andrea Saccaggi (192-89) added 20 points respectively for Agrigento in the defeat. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Trieste moved-up to fifth place, which they share with FCM Ferentino and Agrigento. Trieste will play against league's second-placed Manital Torino on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Agrigento will play against Angelico Biella and hopes to get back on the winning track.
