Important game to mention about took place in Tianjin. Thirteenth ranked TianJin Steel (5-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-6) 94-91 on Sunday evening. Jiangsu Dragons trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 27-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 91-94 at the end of the game. TianJin Steel made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Jiangsu Dragons were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) chipped in 27 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds and point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) added 24 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. TianJin Steel moved-up to tenth place. Loser Jiangsu Dragons keep the twelfth position with six games lost. TianJin Steel will face higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Jiangsu TX (#20) and hope to win that game.
