Not a big story in a game in Jinjiang where 16th ranked Fujian (2-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Jilin Tigers (6-4) 123-108 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Fujian was better in third quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) fired 53 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Syrian guard Michel Madanly (194-81) chipped in 27 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Al Harrington (206-80) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) added 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jilin Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fujian lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth position with eight games lost. Jilin Tigers will face Foshan (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Fujian will play against Shandong Bulls (#9) in Jinan and hope to win that game.
