Regular Season Round 7: Brasilia - Uberlandia 87-90

A very interesting game took place in Brasilia. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 14th ranked Brasilia (2-4) to eighth ranked Unitri (3-3) 90-87 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brasilia won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unitri made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Brasilia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Caleb Brown (183-89, college: Austin Peay St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Audrei Parisotto (196-84) accounted for 27 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winning side. American swingman Darington Hobson (201-87, college: N.Mexico) came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for Brasilia in the defeat. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Unitri. Despite that victory Unitri went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with Palmeiras. Brasilia lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth place with four games lost. Unitri's next round opponent will be Liga Sorocaba (#13) in Sorocabana. Brasilia will play at home against Mogi and hope to win that game.
