Regular Season Round 8: Solna Branten - Jarfalla 82-69

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Solna Branten (5-3) beat at home 8th ranked Jarfalla (2-5) 82-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Solna Branten. Jarfalla was better in third quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Solna Branten forced 22 Jarfalla turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Leo Lightner (187-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Simon Makkonen (186-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Solna Branten players scored in double figures. point guard Gino Panghulan (175-90) replied with 21 points and Mir Nasradin (-94) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Jarfalla. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Solna Branten maintains fifth position in North with 5-3 record. Newly promoted Jarfalla keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Solna Branten will face higher ranked KFUM Uppsala (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jarfalla will play against the league's leader Alvik Basket (#1) and hope to win that game.
