There was no surprise in Parma where 9th ranked Lavezzini PR (3-6) was crushed by second ranked Familia Schio (8-1) 85-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Familia Schio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Familia Schio outrebounded Lavezzini PR 36-23 including 30 on the defensive glass. Croatian center Iva Sliskovic (190-84, college: S.Carolina) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international forward Raffaella Masciadri (188-80) chipped in 15 points. Familia Schio's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian power forward Olga Maznichenko (190-91, agency: LBM Management) with 13 points and the former international guard Valeria Battisodo (176-88, agency: Players Group) scored 13 points. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-1 record having just -4 point less than leader Ragusa. Lavezzini PR lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Familia Schio will meet at home Orvieto (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lavezzini PR will play against Umbertide and hope to secure a win.
