Regular Season Round 9: Vicenza - Ferrara 54-68

The biggest surprise of round 9 in Serie A2 was guest Ferrara's (7-1) road victory over Vicenza (#3) 68-54 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in A2. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Vicenza managed to win third quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Ferrara forced 20 Vicenza turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Liliana Miccio (182-89) who scored 19 points. Forward Jomanda Rosier (182-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish forward Clara Anglada (185-92, college: Siena) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Roberta Martelliano (165-92) added 7 points and 6 assists respectively. Ferrara keeps a position of A2 leader. Vicenza at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Ferrara are looking forward to face Biassono (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vicenza will play against the league's second-placed Team Crema (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
