Regular Season Round 7: Chanson V-M - Toyota A. 81-59

The game between third ranked Toyota A. (4-2) and fifth ranked Chanson V-M (5-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Toyota A. was crushed by Chanson V-M in Shizuoka 81-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toyota A.. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Toyota A. managed to win second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chanson V-M shot 17 for 23 from the free-throw line, while Toyota A. only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Toyota A. 44-29 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws). Center Sugiyama Miyuki (196-94) helped adding 18 points and 15 rebounds. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. At the losing side international point guard Emi Kudeken (165-84) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Mika Kurihara (178-89) scored 11 points. Chanson V-M have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Toyota A. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Toyota B SR and JX-Eneos S.. Chanson V-M are looking forward to face Niigata R. (#9) in Tokyo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Toyota A. will play on the road against the league's leader Denso Iris (#1) in Kariya and is hoping to win this game.
