Regular Season Round 8: KR - Haukar 93-78

Dominos League top team - KR (8-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Haukar (5-3) in Reykjavik 93-78. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KR outrebounded Haukar 49-37 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Kari Jonsson (190-97) added 17 points in the effort for Haukar. Five KR and four Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Ivar Asgrimsson let to play eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KR have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Haukar lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with three games lost. KR's next round opponent will be Stjarnan (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Haukar will play against IR in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
