Regular Season Round 5: Mahram - Qazvin 95-74

Superleague top team - Mahram (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Qazvin (1-2) in Tehran 95-74. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Mahram's pressure prevailed and they won that period 38-19 extending their advantage to 21 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Qazvin's 28. They outrebounded Qazvin 44-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international power forward Mousa Nabipour (211-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. International Reza Ranjbar produced 17 points and Mehdi Mohammadi added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mahram have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Qazvin at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Mahram will meet Naft Abadan (#4) on the road in the next round. Qazvin will play against the league's second-placed Petrochimi and hope to win that game.
