Regular Season Round 6: Hapoel Migd.H. - Elitzur Ramla 83-77

Date: November 25, 2014
There was no surprise in Tarshicha where 12th ranked Elitzur Ramla (1-5) was defeated by sixth ranked Hapoel Migd.H. (4-2) 83-77. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Hapoel Migd.H. forced 22 Elitzur Ramla turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Elitzur Ramla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Chris Gaston (201-89, college: Fordham) supported him with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Billy White (203-89, college: San Diego St.) did not help to save the game for Elitzur Ramla. Naturalized American Sean Labanowski (205-92) added 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Elitzur Ramla's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Migd.H. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Elitzur Ramla at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Hapoel Migd.H.'s next round opponent will be Ironi Ashkelon (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Elitzur Ramla will play against Hapoel Kazrin (#10) and hope to win that game.
