The game in Hamar was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Valur (6-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Hamar (1-8). Valur defeated Hamar 65-54. The game was mostly controlled by Valur. Hamar was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hamar to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The former international center Ragna Brynjarsdottir (188-90) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and guard Gudbjorg Sverrisdottir (180-92) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American swingman Sydnei Moss (178-88, college: Co.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and forward Thorunn Bjarnadottir (171-80) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Valur. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Haukar. Hamar lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Breidablik and KR. Valur will play against league's second-placed Snaefell in Stykkisholmur in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamar will play against Breidablik (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
