Regular Season Round 11: Bayi R. - Xinjiang FT 69-84

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (8-3) defeated 17th ranked Bayi Rockets (2-9) in Ningbo 84-69 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. Bayi Rockets was better in second period 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bayi Rockets 51-39 including 23 on the offensive glass. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 25 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) contributed with 6 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International swingman Bo Zhang (199-89) answered with 18 points and forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Bayi Rockets. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangdong ST. Bayi Rockets at the other side keep the seventeenth position with nine games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#15) in Hangzhou in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bayi Rockets will play on the road against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou and hope to win that game.
