An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Limeira. Leader Winner/Limeira faced their biggest opponent Vivo/Franca. Host Winner/Limeira (6-0) smashed guests from Sao Paulo (4-3) 100-74. It looked good early as Vivo/Franca took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Winner/Limeira had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and Vivo/Franca was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-100. Winner/Limeira shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Vivo/Franca's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (183-86, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Winner/Limeira players scored in double figures. Winner/Limeira's coach Dede Barbosa felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Helinho Garcia (185-75) added 17 points in the effort for Vivo/Franca. Winner/Limeira have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Vivo/Franca at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with S.Jose/Unimed and Paulistano. Winner/Limeira will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vivo/Franca will play against Rio Claro and hopes to get back on the winning track.
