Regular Season Round 7: Gimle - Bergen 50-40

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bergen: Gimle (#4) and Bergen (#6). Gimle (4-3) won against visiting Bergen (2-6) 50-40. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 50-40. Gimle dominated on the defensive end, holding Bergen to just 4 points in second quarter and to 12 points in first half. Gimle forced 21 Bergen turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. Guard Maria Songve (168-93) fired 21 points for the winners. Guard Josefin Winther (180-86) chipped in 3 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Nini Skjulhaug (170-96) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Kristin Hannestad (175-97) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gimle moved-up to third place. Bergen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Gimle are looking forward to face league's leader Ullern in Oslo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bergen will play at home against Ammerud (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
