Regular Season Round 11: Beijing Ducks - Sichuan BW 130-96

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Sichuan BW (3-8) was outleveled on the road by second ranked Beijing Ducks (10-1) 130-96 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. Sichuan BW was better in fourth quarter 35-33. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Sichuan BW's 48. They outrebounded Sichuan BW 52-30 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sichuan BW's players. Guard Shuo Fang (188-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 assists. Forward Zhe Ji (202-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Nan Wu (196-89) added 19 points in the effort for Sichuan BW. Five Beijing Ducks and four Sichuan BW players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Beijing Ducks. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-1 record having just three points less than leader Liaoning H. Loser Sichuan BW keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Chongqing FD (#19) in Guangzhou in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sichuan BW will play on the road against Jilin Tigers (#9) in Changchun and hope to win that game.
