Regular Season Round 8: United - 36ers 94-91

The most exciting game of round 8 in the NBL took place in Melbourne. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Adelaide 36ers (3-7) to fourth ranked United (6-5) 94-91 on Thursday evening. Adelaide 36ers trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 91-94 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan McRae (198-91, college: Tennessee) who scored 23 points. The former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 22 points. Four United players scored in double figures. American point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Brock Motum (207-90, college: Washington St.) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. United maintains fourth position with 6-5 record. Adelaide 36ers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. United are looking forward to face Townsville Crocodiles (#6) in Wulguru in the next round. Adelaide 36ers will play on the road against Cairns Taipans and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
