Very important is a home loss of second ranked Killester (6-3) against sixth ranked Templeogue (4-4) on Thursday night. Host Killester was crushed by Templeogue in Dublin 85-52. Templeogue shot 22 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Killester only scored 0 point from the stripe. Templeogue forced 25 Killester turnovers and had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: GRU) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Lorcan Murphy (182-94) accounted for 19 points. Four Templeogue players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Jermaine Turner (195-74, college: Dowling) came up with 19 points and guard John Behan (193-85) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Killester in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Templeogue moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Neptune Cork. Defending champion Killester keeps the second position with three games lost. Templeogue will play against UL Eagles (#9) in Limerick in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Killester will have a break next round.
