An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 4th ranked Samen (#4) in a game versus PMINA Esfahan (#8) 81-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Samen. Samen was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of PMINA Esfahan, which allowed them to win the game. They made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. PMINA Esfahan forced 19 Samen turnovers. The former international swingman Iman Zandi (188-81) notched 21 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Mohammad Amjad (190-90) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by international power forward Saleh Foroutannik (207-94) did not help to save the game for Samen. The former international swingman Ali Jamshidi (196-85) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Samen players scored in double figures. Newly promoted PMINA Esfahan maintains eighth position with 1-4 record. Samen at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Naft Abadan. PMINA Esfahan will meet at home bottom-ranked Sanaye (#9) in the next round. Samen will play against Qazvin (#7) and hope to secure a win.
