Regular Season Round 13: Ridzene - Pardaguava 85-74

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Riga: Ridzene (#8) and Pardaguava (#3). Ridzene (3-7) won against visiting Pardaguava (5-5) 85-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pardaguava. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-74. Power forward Rihards Adins (200-94) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Davids Muiznieks (196-94) accounted for 22 points and 8 assists. Forward Linards Jaunzems (198-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Karlis Vecens (185-95) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Pardaguava in the defeat. Pardaguava's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ridzene moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Jekabpils II. Loser Pardaguava keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Jugla. Ridzene will meet league's leader ViA in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pardaguava's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga DSN.
