Regular Season Round 8: Haukar - Njardvik 67-66

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Dominos League took place in Hafnarfjordur. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Njardvik (4-4) to fifth ranked Haukar (5-3) 67-66 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Alex Francis (198-91, college: Bryant, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American guard Dustin Salisbery (196-84, college: Temple) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and forward Hjoertur Einarsson (194-89) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Njardvik's coach Fridrik Ingi Runarsson tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Haukar moved-up to third place, which they share with Stjarnan. Njardvik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Haukar is looking forward to face IR (#9) in Reykjavik in the next round where they are favorite. Njardvik will play at home against Skallagrimur (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
