Regular Season Round 8: Rio Claro - Vivo/Franca 68-75

Very expected game when 16th ranked Rio Claro (1-6) lost at home to sixth ranked Vivo/Franca (5-3) 75-68. It looked good early as Rio Claro took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vivo/Franca took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They also forced 20 Rio Claro turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian Marcos Mata (201-86) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) responded with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Lucas Tischer (208-83) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Vivo/Franca moved-up to third place, which they share with S.Jose/Unimed. Rio Claro at the other side stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Vivo/Franca will play against Unitri (#6) in Uberlandia in the next round. Rio Claro will play on the road against SKY/Basquete (#15) in Aldeota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
