Fifth ranked Guandong Tigers (9-3) crushed at home 13th ranked TianJin Steel (5-7) by 53 points 127-74, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The game without a history. Guandong Tigers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 36. Guandong Tigers forced 20 TianJin Steel turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by TianJin Steel's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds and power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) who added 21 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Shang Ping (205-84, college: Emporia St.) with 15 points and swingman Zhihan Zhang (198-91) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Loser TianJin Steel dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Guandong Tigers will face bottom-ranked Jiangsu TX (#20) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. TianJin Steel will play against Bayi Rockets (#17) and hope to win that game.
