Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Denain Voltaire and 5th ranked Le Portel had identical 5-3 record. This time Denain Voltaire used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Le Portel 88-86 on Friday night. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Denain Voltaire made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Denain Voltaire. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Le Portel dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Denain Voltaire will face higher ranked Monaco (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Le Portel will play against the league's second-placed Chorale de Roanne (#2) and hope to win that game.
