Regular Season Round 17: Eco Orebro - Norrkoping 89-91

Tenth-ranked Eco Orebro (2-10) gave a tough game to third ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (10-3). The visitors from Norrkoping managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Eco Orebro won fourth quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Norrkoping Dolphins made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Eco Orebro was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Mikael Lindquist (193-83) nailed 27 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and the former international center Joakim Kjellbom (212-79, college: N.Arizona) accounted for 12 points and 14 rebounds. Norrkoping Dolphins' coach Lars Johansson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-British power forward Randall Hanke (211-84, college: Providence) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and American forward Darris Santee (203-87, college: UNLV) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Eco Orebro in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Norrkoping Dolphins moved-up to second place. Eco Orebro lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Eco Orebro will play on the road against Nassjo (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
