Date: November 28, 2014
Leader New Zealand Breakers delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Kings (5-5) 107-96 in Auckland. Kings were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 54-41 second half run of New Zealand Breakers. They outrebounded Kings 36-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. New Zealand Breakers players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) who scored that evening 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Fijian forward Tai Wesley (200-86, college: Utah St.) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) did not help to save the game for Kings. International swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: GRU) added 22 points for the guests. Five New Zealand Breakers and four Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach Damian Cotter rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. New Zealand Breakers (9-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Kings at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost. New Zealand Breakers' next round opponent will be again Kings (#5) in Sydney.
