Regular Season Round 7: Sydney UF - Adelaide 66-54

Leader Sydney Uni Flames delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Adelaide Lightning (2-8) 66-54. It looked good early as Adelaide Lightning took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sydney Uni Flames took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They also forced 20 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. It was a quality performance for American center Paris Johnson (193-89, college: San Diego St.) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. International center Laura Hodges (191-83) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Jess Foley (182-83, college: Duke) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Adelaide Lightning in the defeat. Adelaide Lightning's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Sydney Uni Flames went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Bendigo S. Adelaide Lightning lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Sydney Uni Flames' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Bendigo Spirit at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Adelaide Lightning will play against the league's second-placed Bendigo Spirit (#2) and hope to win that game.
