Regular Season Round 16: Las Animas - Osorno 68-65

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Liga Nacional took place in Valdivia. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Osorno (9-6) to seventh ranked Las Animas (7-8) 68-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Osorno. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 23-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Las Animas made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Ronald Cruces (177-87) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Belizean-American forward Alex Carcamo (200-77, college: E.Washington) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American forward Perris Blackwell (206, college: Washington) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and guard David Gonzalez (180-86) added 18 points in the effort for Osorno. Las Animas maintains seventh position with 7-8 record. Osorno at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Colo Colo. Las Animas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Valdivia Deportivo Valdivia.
