Regular Season Round 11: Kotwica - Basket Pila 102-85

Everything could happen in Kolobrzeg at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Kotwica and 7th ranked Basket Pila had identical 3-5 record. This time Kotwica used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Pila 102-85 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kotwica. Basket Pila was better in third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Basket Pila 42-29 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kotwica especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Basket Pila was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Grzegorz Arabas (191-78, agency: Promotex) who scored 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Bosnian power forward Marko Djuric (208-83, agency: Promotex) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Guard Grzegorz Przewozniak (191-82) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Patryk Bielecki (183-94) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Basket Pila players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kotwica (4-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Wisla Krakow and Polonia W-wa. Basket Pila lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Kotwica will face KUKS Koszalin (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Basket Pila will play against the league's leader Notec and hope to win that game.
