Regular Season Round 11: AZS PCz - WKK Wroclaw 86-72

There was an upset in Czestochowa where 3rd placed WKK Wroclaw (6-4) was defeated by seventh ranked AZS PCz (5-5) 86-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-72. AZS PCz outrebounded WKK Wroclaw 42-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Szymon Rynkiewicz (198-91) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Guard Igor Wadowski (193-96) produced 17 points and 6 assists and center Marcin Kolowca (209-87) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS PCz maintains seventh place with 5-5 record. Loser WKK Wroclaw dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. AZS PCz will face higher ranked Mickiewicz (#3) in Katowice in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
