Regular Season Round 6: Aros Leon - Oviedo 61-51

Bottom-ranked Oviedo is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Aros Leon (4-2) 61-51 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Aros Leon. Oviedo was better in fourth quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Oviedo 42-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Lucia Pablos (172-85, college: Northeastern, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Maria Garcia (185-85) contributed with 9 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Aros Leon's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Eva Oliva (170-92) replied with 10 points and 5 rebounds and center Carolina Hernando (184-85) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Oviedo. Aros Leon moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Loser Oviedo still closes the standings with six games lost. Aros Leon will face Araski AES (#9) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round where they are favorite. Oviedo will play at home against Universidad de Valladolid and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
