Regular Season Round 6: Segle XXI - Sant Adria 47-58

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Sant Adria (6-0) defeated 8th ranked Segle XXI (2-4) in Barcelona 58-47 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sant Adria. Segle XXI was better in third quarter 13-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sant Adria had a 38-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Laura Torrent (-96) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Mariona Martin (169-96) contributed with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Maria Martianez (181-97) replied with 8 points and 7 rebounds and Clara Che added 8 points in the effort for Segle XXI. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sant Adria have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Alcobendas. Loser Segle XXI dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Sant Adria will face UCAM Jairis (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Segle XXI will play against ASEFA Estudiantes in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
