Regular Season Round 17: Yokohama BC - Bambitious Nara 75-91

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Yokohama BC (4-13) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Bambitious Nara (4-9) 91-75 on Saturday. Bambitious Nara dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 32. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 47-25 including a 40-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bambitious Nara looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Five Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) produced 43 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and point guard Kenji Yamada (180-83) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Bambitious Nara moved-up to eighth place. Yokohama BC lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Bambitious Nara will have a break next round. Yokohama BC will play again against Bambitious Nara (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
