Regular Season Round 17: Shinshu BW - Kyoto Hannar. 73-84

Leader Kyoto Hannar. delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Shinshu BW (5-8) 84-73 in Nagano. It looked good early as Shinshu BW took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kyoto Hannar. took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 11 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Shinshu BW was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American forward Carl Hall (203-89, college: Wichita St.) answered with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) added 16 points in the effort for Shinshu BW. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kyoto Hannar.. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again at home against the league's leader Kyoto Hannar. (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
