No shocking result in a game in Spanga where third ranked Sallen (7-2) smashed 11th ranked Akropol (1-8) 86-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sallen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Sallen outrebounded Akropol 39-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian Dajana Butulija (176-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sallen's coach Bo Eriksson felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ozlem Alkan (174-90) who recorded 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Nina Baresso (170-75) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Sallen. They maintain third place with 7-2 record having four points less than leader Umea. Akropol lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Sallen will face bottom-ranked Solna Vikings (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Akropol will play against 08 Stockholm and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
