Regular Season Round 10: Orleans - Gravelines 88-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Orleans between third ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (7-3) and sixteenth ranked Entente Orleans 45 (4-6) on Saturday night. Gravelines-Dunkerque was defeated by Entente Orleans 45 on the road 73-88. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. The game was mostly controlled by Entente Orleans 45. Gravelines-Dunkerque managed to win second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Entente Orleans 45 made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kyle McAlarney (185-87, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. The other American import swingman David Noel (200-84, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Entente Orleans 45's coach Francois Peronnet used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Coleman Collins (207-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Pape Sy (200-88) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Entente Orleans 45 moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Nanterre. Entente Orleans 45 is looking forward to face higher ranked SPO Rouen (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against STB Le Havre (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
