Regular Season Round 17: B.Bystrica - Nitra 91-62

Date: November 29, 2014
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (6-10) crushed at home bottom-ranked Nitra (1-16) 91-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SKP Banska Bystrica. Nitra managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Nitra to just 6 points in fourth quarter. American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) nailed 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) accounted for 18 points. Four SKP Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. SKP Banska Bystrica's coach Martin Blaho felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Roman Vido (204-88) came up with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Justin Ward (203-91, college: Lakeland) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Nitra in the defeat. SKP Banska Bystrica moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Levice. Nitra lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. SKP Banska Bystrica will meet Nova Ves (#9) on the road in the next round. Nitra will play against Handlova and hope to win that game.
