Regular Season Round 9: Monaco - Poitiers 100-81

Very expected game when 10th ranked Poitiers (4-5) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Monaco (7-1) 100-81 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-81. Monaco made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American Quincy Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Harley (193-94) who recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (203-90, college: Oklahoma) added 16 points respectively. Four Monaco and five Poitiers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Monaco maintains third place with 7-1 record behind leader Hyeres-Toulon. Poitiers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Monaco will face Denain Voltaire (#5) on the road in the next round. Poitiers will play against the league's leader Hyeres-Toulon (#1) and hope to win that game.
