Regular Season Round 10: Huima - HyPo 82-81

The most exciting game of round 10 in the SM-sarja took place in Aanekoski. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers HyPo (5-5) to fifth ranked Aanekosken (6-4) 82-81 in the game for the fourth place. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 25-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Aanekosken forced 21 HyPo turnovers. American power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Anni Jamsa (169-95) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aanekosken have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted HyPo dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Honka. Aanekosken are looking forward to face ViVe (#7) in Vimpeli in the next round. HyPo will have a break next round.
