Regular Season Round 14: Tochigi Brex - Toshiba BT 75-81

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tochigi. Second-ranked host Tochigi Brex (10-6) lost to third ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-5) 81-75. Tochigi Brex was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) who scored 27 points. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-5 record having five points less than leader Hitachi SR, which they share with Hiroshima D. Tochigi Brex lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the second place with six games lost. Toshiba Thunders will meet at home league's second-placed Mitsubishi Dolphins in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play against the league's leader Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
