Regular Season Round 10: Biassono - Ferrara 35-66

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Ferrara (8-1) outplayed on the road 8th ranked Biassono (2-7) 66-35 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrara. Biassono was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Biassono to just 5 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Ferrara held Biassono to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Ferrara forced 26 Biassono turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Biassono was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Jomanda Rosier (182-89) contributed with 6 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Alessia Colombo (186-93) replied with 10 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Laura Rossi (166-97) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Biassono. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferrara maintains first position in A2 with 8-1 record. Loser Biassono keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Ferrara will face league's second-placed Team Crema at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Biassono will play against Muggia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
