Regular Season Round 18: Shiga L-Stars - Aomori Watts 80-72

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Aomori Watts (10-8) lost on the road to fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-3) 80-72 on Sunday. Aomori Watts trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-80 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Aomori Watts. Five Shiga L-Stars and four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fourth place. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Shiga L-Stars will face higher ranked Akita Happinets (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Aomori Watts will play against Shimane Magic and hope to win that game.
