Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Bambitious Nara (5-9) rolled over on the road 10th ranked Yokohama BC (4-14) 110-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bambitious Nara. Yokohama BC was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bambitious Nara dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Yokohama BC's 24. They outrebounded Yokohama BC 47-23 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bambitious Nara shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 23 rebounds. The other American import forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: KMG Sports Management) replied with 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Ryuichi Horikawa (191-79) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Yokohama BC. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Bambitious Nara have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 5-9 record, which they share with Shinshu BW. Yokohama BC lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost. Bambitious Nara will face higher ranked Sendai 89ers (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yokohama BC will play against Gunma (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
