The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Umana Venezia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Umana Venezia defeated bottom-ranked Juvecaserta at home 88-76. Juvecaserta was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 29-11 charge of Umana Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Julyan Stone (198-88, college: UTEP) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Juvecaserta. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Umana Venezia (7-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position.
